The management and all who work at EMCO Wheaton & Todo here at the Margate facility are committed to caring for the environment and the prevention of pollution.
The organisation ensures that all its activities (within the defined scope) are carried out in conformance with the relevant environmental legislation and other requirements (environmental aspects) to which the organisation subscribes.
The organisation seeks to minimise waste, promote recycling, reduce energy consumption, reduce harmful emissions and, where possible, to work with suppliers and customers on practical environmental programmes.
An essential feature of the environmental management system is a commitment to continually improve on environmental performance and preventing pollution. This is achieved by setting environmental improvement objectives and targets which are regularly monitored and reviewed.
The objectives and targets are publicised throughout the organisation and all staff are committed to their achievement.
In order to ensure the achievement of the above commitments, the organisation has implemented an environmental management system which satisfies the requirements of BS EN ISO 14001.
This Policy and the obligations and responsibilities required by the environmental management system have been communicated to all employees and other persons working on behalf of the organisation.

Health and Safety Policy
The management and all who work at EMCO Wheaton & Todo consider successful safety, health, quality and environmental management to be an integral part of its business and a management priority, particularly in relation to the design and supply of specialised engineering components.
Our Health & Safety Policy is to:
- Comply with all legislative requirements pertaining to safety and health as a minimum standard;
- Maintain continuous improvement in safety and health management performance;
- Minimise the number of instances of occupational accidents and illnesses and ultimately to achieve an accident-free workplace;
- Provide adequate information, instruction, training and supervision to enable staff to carry out their work safely and without risk to their health;
- Consult with employees on matters that affect their safety and health;
- Provide and maintain suitable equipment that is safe and without risk to health;
- Provide safe premises and work places, including access and egress;
- Provide designs that recognise, include and apply safe practices during preparation, construction and subsequent operational use and maintenance after completion of the project, and which consider environmental impacts;
- Develop and review clear safety and health performance indicators including accident and incident performance, annual objectives, training achievements and audits.
The responsibilities, procedures and arrangements for implementing this policy have been defined and are detailed in the H&S manual.T
The General Manager has overall responsibility for this policy and will provide adequate resource to achieve the Policy.t is the responsibility of each manager/supervisor to implement the policy in the areas under their control.
It is the responsibility of each employee to take reasonable care of their own and other people's welfare and to report any situation which may pose a threat to the safety or well-being of any other person.
