A recent defence aviation fleet upgrade provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the real-world application of our Tank Truck Equipment (TTE)—specifically in high-capacity aircraft refuelling operations. 

Built for Aviation Fuel Transfer 

The project involved the refurbishment of a fleet of 20,000-litre refuelling vehicles used to support military aircraft operations. These vehicles are designed to handle Jet A-1, the standard aviation turbine fuel used globally in both defence and commercial aviation. 

Emco Wheaton supplied a selection of bottom loading and refuelling components, including: 

  • Standard and pressure-balanced footvalves 

  • Manlids 

  • Diptubes 

  • Refuelling nozzles 

These components are engineered for compatibility with Jet A-1 and built to meet the rigorous standards of aviation fuel handling—ensuring safe, efficient, and contamination-free transfer. 

Demonstrating Real-World Reliability

This project didn’t present a technical challenge—it was a demonstration of how Emco Wheaton’s TTE products integrate seamlessly into mission-critical operations. Our equipment was selected for its proven reliability, ease of maintenance, and compliance with modern transport and safety standards.
